No harm there. Well, maybe. There’s a good chance you’re breaking the law and don’t even know it.
Most civilised countries have data protection laws in place to protect citizens from wilful abuse of their data. This was never an issue for an entrepreneur building a business through internet marketing.
That is, until the EU introduced the GDPR in 2017. The US created the Privacy Shield Framework to allow data transfer between Europe and the US, so now we’re all responsible for every piece of other people’s data we hold.
